Portellus Introduces New Stand-Alone Secondary Marketing Module to Increase Lenders' Flexibility, Options
IRVINE, Calif., April 28, 2005 - Portellus Inc., a leading provider of technology tools and services for the financial services industry, today announced that a key component of its comprehensive Web-based loan origination system (LOS) is now available as a separate, stand-alone module.
The new stand-alone Secondary Marketing Module enables lenders to better manage loan pooling, commitments, trades and investor rejections by organizing them using a central repository that can easily filter for loans with common characteristics. Key features include pipeline information displays, daily summaries, a planning calendar and loan searches. Once a pool of loans is committed, they can easily be exported to an Excel spreadsheet for investor review.
Portellus officials said they made the application available as a standalone module to provide lenders the flexibility of implementing either all or part of Portellus' LOS system.
Previously, the Secondary Marketing system was available only as an integrated component of Portellus' loan origination system. When used in conjunction with the LOS, the module functions seamlessly within Portellus' enterprise lending framework.
"As a standalone application, the module brings a new level of data organization, efficiency, consistency and reliability across the board for secondary marketing departments," said Skip Hulme, director of lending solutions for Portellus. "The mechanics of the module as a standalone product make it ideal for secondary marketing departments that are manually using spreadsheets to organize and sell their loans."
