Portellus Adds Experienced Technologist to Management Team
Michael Goldsby Joins Growing Company as CTO
IRVINE, Calif., November 30, 2006 Portellus Inc., a leading provider of technology solutions for the financial services industry, announced that it has hired Michael Goldsby as chief technology officer (CTO). Mr. Goldsby comes to Portellus with more than 20 years of experience in high visibility positions ranging from chief architect and scientist to enterprise consultant.
Mr. Goldsby is an accomplished technologist that has directed large scale public, private and commercial technology projects at both a domestic and international capacity. He is a leading chief architect and solution innovator who brings a vast array of experience in the areas of software and hardware, application development, enterprise integration, computational modeling, decisioning technologies and artificial intelligence.
Most recently, Mr. Goldsby was the lead enterprise architect consultant on a major technology initiative for Argent Mortgage, one of the nation's largest nonprime lenders, where he led architecture design and development efforts. Before Argent, he was the senior enterprise architect consultant at Accredited Home Lenders (AHL) where he drove technology strategy analysis efforts to identify business-technology opportunities for improved business agility and profitability.
Prior to AHL, Mr. Goldsby worked for Det Norske Veritas (DNV), an international risk management firm with offices in over 100 countries and 12,000 employees. At DNV, he held the position of chief architect where he led the company's commercial software division for six years. Mr. Goldsby later assumed the role of chief scientist for DNV's scientific software division, which provided business consulting services to large multi-national firms and governmental agencies. In this role, he established cutting-edge approaches to complex client problems by mixing conventional scientific services with advanced computational techniques. Mr. Goldsby has also
led large technical teams at additional DNV offices and also at Walt Disney Company.

Mr. Goldsby holds a B.A. degree, has completed graduate studies in Advanced Computational Mathematics at Oxford University, and is awaiting his Ph.D. distinction in Computer and Mathematical Sciences from Oxford Brookes University subsequent to the acceptance of his dissertation in Artificial Intelligence. He was most recently a visiting scholar at the University of California at San Diego where he taught computer science.
