Portellus Revamps its Infrastructure to Accommodate More Clients

The Company Has Taken Strategic Internal Steps to Support Increased Growth

IRVINE, Calif., December 15, 2006 - Portellus Inc., a leading provider of rules-based technology solutions, announced that it has taken a number of infrastructure and support enhancement measures that leave the company well positioned to manage growth and new client acquisitions. The initiative was spawned by an increased demand for the company's next-generation automation solutions.

"Much of the last eight months have been spent preparing for a wave of new customer acquisitions as a direct result of our solutions delivering the unmatched flexibility to swiftly respond to marketplace dynamics, create competitive advantages, increase profitability and reduce operational costs."

Portellus focuses on delivering strategic, phased implementations to safeguard clients from experiencing operational slips when moving away from legacy systems.     Among the steps Portellus took to bolster its infrastructure and support organization are:
  • Relocation of Corporate Headquarters - In June of this year Portellus relocated its corporate headquarters to a facility more than double the space of its previous office. The increased space supports the company's requirement to rapidly expand its operations on a wide scale.
  • Establishment of a Customer Support Center (CSC) - Portellus has created a dedicated CSC to ensure customer requests are met with timely, accurate and complete problem resolution with the goal of delivering total customer satisfaction.
  • Expansion of Quality Control Department - In order for quality assurance to maintain its efficiency and effectiveness in a hyper growth stage, Portellus has increased the size of its quality control department by 300% since the beginning of the year with experienced QA specialists This positions the company to meticulously control the delivery of quality applications on highly complex projects of a large scale.
  • Expansion of Sales and Marketing Staff - As part of its growth strategy, Portellus has doubled the size of its sales and marketing department in 2006. The senior-level hires populate several business units and place a strong emphasis on demand generation, direct sales and branding.
  • Construction of a New Customer Readiness Lab (CRL) - The CRL is designed to host visits from prospective clients interested in testing Portellus' products before they purchase them in a focused effort to mitigate risk and ensure ROI. The CRL was expanded over the old lab specifically to allow for concurrent prospect visits to the new onsite evaluation, testing and solution simulation facilities.
  • Opening of New Development Offices - To support increased development requirements, the company grew its existing Eastern European office and also opened two new offices. The second office was added in Eastern Europe and a third was started in Southeast Asia. While the existing office bolsters Portellus' services bandwidth, the other two allow for increased R & D activities.
  • Launch of Experience360 - After observing multiple flaws in the traditional client-vendor relationship, Portellus launched a company-wide philosophy and approach to customers that places a strong emphasis on delivering a positive end-to-end client experience from pre-sales through implementation, training and post-sales support. Experience360 comprises fundamental principles that holistically deliver elevated customer service, strategic implementations and technology flexibility.
Throughout 2006, Portellus has expanded its infrastructure, added to its staff, established new departments and implemented new approaches all as part of the company's strategic plan to continue with aggressive expansion to support a strong demand for its automation solutions.
